SKY LEVEL (2015)

Percy Cannon forges a contemporary path in abstraction. While the paintings reference the Bay Area artist’s commute from Highway 4 through Cummings Skyway, his primary concern is not landscape but rather the relationship of color to time and memory. Variable recollections and chromatic structures mingle, creating diverse spaces suggestive of the screen of the Mario Brothers’ video games, quirky passages of a Giotto fresco or the view from a moving car.
